Salute to Major General (Ret.) N. Lee S. Price
By: Thayer LeadershipA heartfelt thank you to MG (Ret.) N. Lee. S. Price, as she retires from Thayer Leadership after serving as an impactful faculty member for many years.
Lee entered the Army in 1975 as a Private First Class when only 2% of the Army workforce was female and retired over 38 years later as a Major General. Upon her retirement in 2014, only seven women had gone further in the Army, and she had a number of “firsts”:
- First woman to receive a commission through the Officer Candidate School to achieve the rank of General Officer.
- First woman in the Army Acquisition Corps to be promoted to the rank of Brigadier General
- First woman selected for a General Officer rank while serving in a Special Operations unit
Explore her autobiography, No Greater Honor: Lessons From My Life as a Soldier, for poignant, humorous, and thought-provoking stories in the areas of resiliency, trust, and comfort zones as Lee rose through the ranks from Private First Class to Major General.
