While serving as the leader of a U.S. advising organization in Iraq, he led U.S. service members to advise and coach senior foreign government officials and generals to improve mission performance. He directed the U.S. Army’s Culture Center, an organization that helped the U.S. military to build cross-cultural competence to deploy worldwide. In his final active-duty assignment at West Point, as a senior leader and faculty member, Remi led an academic program and directed several committees and working groups devoted to leadership development. He demonstrated his forte in sparking rich audience participation among leaders, faculty and cadets in seminars about cross-cultural leadership, enhancing organizational culture, cross-generational communications, enhancing self-awareness and leader effectiveness, and other topics related to building leaders of character.
