Thayer Leadership has partnered with Lord Abbett over the past five years on a journey of transformation to redefine the investment management firm’s culture, create a bold vision, and define their first ever five-year strategic plan to advance the organization. From the campus of the United States Military Academy at West Point to the beaches of Normandy, France, Thayer has inspired the 45 partners and high potential leaders at Lord Abbett with leader development and strategic planning training. Additional training has been cascaded down to all the leaders throughout Lord Abbett to build true leadership that will drive their organization forward for the next 91-years of their future.

These transformative efforts enabled Lord Abbett to enter the COVID-19 pandemic in a position of tremendous strength and thrive in a remote work environment. Doug Sieg, Managing Partner of Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC says, “I honestly don't know if we could have gotten through this as well as we have without the training that we've had at Thayer Leadership for the past five years. It was very surreal when the office closed at the start of the pandemic. That weekend was spent, in my mind, just taking in everything we had learned at Thayer about a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment and starting to put it into play. The trust that was developed [through our training at Thayer] carried into the operating environment. This remote operating environment is all about trust.
