Merritt grew up in Cooperstown, NY the home of baseball, where her love of sports then brought her to Lock Haven University where she earned her degree in Sports Management.  Upon graduation, Merritt entered the sports field working for the Hagerstown Suns, a minor league affiliate of the Washington Nationals.  She developed a love and passion for event planning developed during her time with the Suns, which subsequently brought her to Minneapolis, MN for a position with Octagon Sports Marketing Firm. Merritt then accepted a position back on the east coast in 2011, where she worked for several years at The Glimmerglass Festival; she served most notably as the Director of Company Management during which time she honed her logistical expertise.  After 10 years with Glimmerglass, Merritt diversified her experience by serving as the Major Events Coordinator at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.

Merritt is moving to the Hudson Valley to join the team at Thayer Leadership. She looks forward to taking advantage of the local scenery and hiking alongside her pup, Maverick.
