(University of North Georgia)
Digital Learning Coordinator
Following her graduation from the University of North Georgia, previously known as North Georgia College and State University (NGCSU), Lauren married her college sweetheart and immediately embraced the dynamic Army life. Over the course of 21 years and 11 duty stations, ranging from Washington State to Vicenza, Italy, she has been fortunate to support her husband, his unit, and their families through various leadership and senior advisor roles within the Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG). Fourteen deployments provided tough lessons about life and the resilient spirit of those who serve the nation, whether in uniform or alongside them.
Lauren previously worked for Central Texas College in Educational Testing and Counseling, focusing on assisting service members with accessing their GI Bill benefits and financial aid options. She also worked with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) as a Parent Advocate Coordinator in Parent Support. In this role, she interacted with and supported military-connected children and their parents as they navigated educational challenges associated with the military lifestyle, empowering parents to be informed and proactive in their children's educational journey. In 2022, she completed her certification as a Master Resiliency Trainer and joined the Online Guide team at Thayer. Over the past year, she has taken on additional roles within Thayer, including positions on the Technical Support staff and Digital Learning Team.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys running, going to the gym, listening to true crime podcasts, and reading. Currently stationed at Fort Drum, NY, she lives with her two boys and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Griswold, who believes he is human. Lauren looks forward to working with you and your organizations as you progress through your leadership journey!
