Experience

Jenny attended the United States Military Academy, earning a B.S. in Psychology. As a West Point cadet, Jenny was an active member of the marathon team, competing in five marathons including two Boston Marathons. Following graduation, Jenny was commissioned as an Engineer Officer and assigned to the 1st Engineer Battalion at Fort Riley, Kansas and deployed twice to Iraq. During her deployments, Jenny served as a Battle Captain and Humanitarian Service Officer delivering school and hygiene supplies to children in central Iraq. Upon redeployment, Jenny served as the deputy protocol officer for the 1st Infantry Division, planning and orchestrating division level ceremonies, meetings, and special events. After six years of active-duty service, Jenny transitioned to the Army National Guard and eventually to the U.S. Army Reserves, where she currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the USMA Admissions Department. 

Upon leaving active duty, Jenny became a military spouse and served as the military liaison for a United States Senator from North Carolina. In this role, Jenny worked directly with major military commanders across the state, assisted with developing legislation, and facilitated engagements between local governments, regional groups, and constituents to improve military and civilian relations across the state of North Carolina. Following her husband’s military career, Jenny transitioned to become a project coordinator for the national non-profit, Give an Hour, helping to create an integrated system of veteran care that connected veterans to local organizations in Richmond and Norfolk, VA. Jenny co-founded All Saints Christian Academy, a K-12 classical school in North Carolina. Most Recently, Jenny served as an active-duty Army instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point where she taught Leadership and Officership to first-class students prior to their commissioning in the United States Army.

Scholarly Work/Publications/Awards

Jenny is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Commanding and General Staff College and the Public Affairs Qualification Course.  She has been awarded several Military awards commensurate with her time and service including the Military Volunteer Service Medal, as well as the Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

Personal

When Jenny is not keeping up with her three boys, ages 16, 12, and 3, Jenny enjoys running and reading. Jenny currently resides in Lexington, VA with her husband and three boys.
