Experience  
LTG Hernandez has over 37 years of experience leading military and government organizations.  He has commanded at all levels, from company to Army.  His last active duty assignment was as the first commander of Army Cyber Command/2nd US Army, where he was responsible for the operations and defense of all Army networks.  He built and led a 17,000 person global cyber force, provided strategic direction, developed requirements, and transformed the Army's approach to cyberspace operations.  While commanding the Army's Human Resource Command, he transformed the personnel system to support an Army at war.  In addition to serving in Iraq, he was the senior defense official to Saudi Arabia, where he led the largest security assistance program in the world and strengthened the strategic military partnership.  As the deputy for Army operations, he oversaw worldwide operations, approved and prioritized Army requirements and oversaw Army transformation efforts.  He currently serves as the West Point Cyber Chair to the Army Cyber Institute and as President, CyberLens, LLC, which focuses on leadership, strategic planning, and risk management.

LTG Hernandez (Retired) has addressed many audiences on transforming the Army Personnel System, strengthening strategic partnerships, Army training and operations, and cyberspace operations. He testified twice on Cyberspace requirements to the House Armed Services Committee, Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.
