Chief Executive Officer, Thayer Leadership; Managing General Partner, The Historic Thayer Hotel
Rick Minicozzi is a 1986 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Upon graduation, he served at Ft. Hood and is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Rick founded a real estate investment company while he was based at Ft. Hood and left the Army to pursue this venture full time. Rick is a value investor and has invested, developed and turned around many properties in Texas over 32 years.
Rick founded Always There Property Management Services (ATPMS) in 1999. ATPMS provides property management services to both his personal multi-family portfolio, as well as, those of other owners and home owners associations.
In 2009, he led a partnership to acquire the Historic Thayer Hotel, re-capitalize, renovate and restore it to the quality that is expected at West Point. Today Rick is the Managing General Partner and owner of the Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point.
In 2010, Rick led a group of West Point graduates to found the Thayer Leader Development Group (TLDG), now named Thayer Leadership. Thayer Leadership is an innovative leadership institute led by an elite faculty of retired senior military officers – many of whom taught at West Point while in uniform and led at the highest levels in the military – who work with business executives sharing military experiences and leadership techniques. Thayer utilizes a diverse range of programs to build leaders of character by offering leadership and ethics education grounded in the US Army leadership philosophy of “Be, Know, Do” and the West Point values of “Duty, Honor, Country” in the inspirational venue of the Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point.
Rick is Founder of ESR Development which recently completed a $7 million condominium renovation on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas and also co-founded a New York based construction company, Iron Sword Enterprises that provides construction and construction management services for owners.
In 2014 Rick founded Lone Star Peak Performance, a unique 60 acre water front meeting and reunion venue on beautiful Lake Buchanan in Texas, with elegant accommodations with a rustic charm and exciting team building experiences.
He serves on the Board of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund.
