Experience:
Hise Gibson is a noted expert on leading through crisis and transitions through ensuring organizational operational effectiveness, human capital development, and the leveraging of a systems thinking approach in an ever-changing environment. Currently, he is a Faculty member in the Technology and Operations Management Unit at the Harvard Business School. Hise introduces core operational frameworks to future business leaders and executives. He is also steeped in foundational methods to enable inclusive leadership.

Hise retired from the Army as a Colonel in 2021 after being the primary architect for the Systems Decision and Analysis Center in the Department of Systems Engineering responsible for strategic partnerships and over $700,000 of applied research projects as its inaugural director. He was also a United States Military Academy Professor of Systems Engineering where he was a senior leader at the enterprise-level engaged in governance activities. In addition to having studied technology and operations management extensively, he has led multiple military units ranging in size from 30 to 3200 people.  In 2016, as a master-aviator, the Blackhawk Helicopter organization he was leading in the 82nd Airborne Division was selected to lead the air support efforts for the Global Response Force, supporting 6,000 paratroopers while maintaining the agility to rapidly pivot to anywhere in the world within 96 hours.

Hise’s work has been published in a variety of outlets (e.g., Harvard Business School’s Digital Initiative, Journal of Applied Systems Thinking, Modern Warfare Institute, Routledge Publishing). Furthermore, he has worked extensively with organizations across all sectors concerning their leader development efforts (e.g., Facebook, KPMG, Kraft-Heinz, FedEx, Ulta Beauty, General Electric, IBM, Whirlpool, Jet It, AESARA).
