SEAGATE VALUES-DRIVEN LEADERSHIP JOURNEY: LESSONS FROM THE ARMY AND WEST POINT
Values-Driven Leadership Journey #2
July 7, 2022 - September 8, 2022
Online & Virtual Live
Program Overview
Superior leadership principles, values, and ethics
A unique opportunity to have a fully immersive, exclusive, and interactive experience with role models who have demonstrated superior leadership skills in highly challenging and ever-changing situations leading teams and individuals in extraordinary circumstances. The 10-week digital leadership journey is organized into 4 phases – Lead Yourself, Lead Teams, Lead with Purpose, and Lead with Commitment – creating an iterative development process that allows time to translate knowledge into action and explore practical application.
The faculty, all inspirational leaders of character, will lead and facilitate discussions and provide mentorship and guidance in small, interactive experiential sessions, which reflect the leadership principles, values, and ethics from the Army and West Point. They will bring theory to life and demonstrate meaningful connections between military leadership, and leadership in the corporate, governments, and non-profit sectors. Participants will actively hone these concepts and apply the skills through experiential activities, while simultaneously expanding their professional network.

Transformational, Innovative and Empowering
The Thayer Leadership digital curriculum is unique and perfectly designed to grow talent across all levels and experience. The custom blend of self-paced online learning, self-reflection, and live virtual engagements with the team provided a highly-personalized and engaging experience ensuring optimal impact for all learning styles. My team truly enjoyed the experience and bonded further through the unique combination of live virtual sessions and powerful online learning, giving real leadership tools we are using right away. We look forward to leveraging our learnings as a Senior Staff and also by having our entire Managerial team participate.
Brian Watson, Sr. Director Region in Market Operations
I have just completed the Thayer Values Driven Leadership Journey. I found that the level of interaction and camaraderie for a remote training has far exceeded my expectations. The combination of lecture, reflections, and team interaction has been well orchestrated and in sound balance. This past weekend, I was discussing this digital program with a coworker who is a 2019 graduate of the on-site at West Point program. After we concluded our conversations, I feel that the digital experience and training allowed for a more comprehensive experience than the 1-week on-site program. The combination of online and offline learning spread over multiple weeks allowed me the opportunity to understand and practice in real time the learnings during the work week that I would not have had in an intensive 1-week course. I truly believe the digital format will have a measured and long lasting impact on my leadership abilities.
Richard R. Kovarik, Vice President of ESL/Aseptic Operations
The values and course outline of the Thayer Leadership training is a perfect match with the mindset and values we train within Greif. We therefore brought almost 200 leaders from around the world to Thayer, giving them a common reference point around their personal leadership. They are now deploying their improved skills and experience within the teams they serve and lead, delivering winning results around the globe.
